The last solar eclipse of 2024 will be visible on 2nd October, it is a golden opportunity for those interested in astronomical events. This solar eclipse will create a ring of fire in the sky. The first solar eclipse of this year took place on 8 April 2024 but it was not visible in India. This solar eclipse will start at 9:14 pm and end at 3:17 am. The total duration will be 6 hours and 3 minutes. According to the Royal Museum Greenwich, once a total solar eclipse occurs anywhere on Earth, it takes about 400 years for the next solar eclipse to occur in that area.

What is a solar eclipse?

There is a scientific reason for the solar eclipse, whenever the sun, the moon, and the earth come in a straight line, then a solar eclipse occurs. The moon is then between the earth and the sun. When the Moon is closest to the Earth, it appears larger in size. During this time, if a solar eclipse occurs, it can cover the entire Sun, which is called a total solar eclipse. Then, when seen from space, a large shadow of the Moon is seen on Earth. In the area where the solar eclipse occurs, the view becomes like a night in the day for a few minutes.
