Vrat And Festivals This Week, 30 September to 6 October 2024: This week marks the end of Pitru Paksha with Sarva Pitru Amavasya and the beginning of Sharadiya Navratri. Additionally, important events such as the monthly Shivratri fast, Chaturdashi Tithi Shradh and Tarpan, and Ganesh Chaturthi fast will be observed. The week also signifies Krishna Paksha's end and Shukla Paksha's start. In addition to these observances, Venus will transit in Visakha Nakshatra, and Mercury will transit in Chitra Nakshatra.
Masik Shivratri Vrat (30 September, Monday)

During this time, it is believed that the ancestors were appeased through the offering of food and donations to Brahmins. Observing the rituals of Shraddha and Tarpan on this day is considered essential. It is believed that during Pitru Visarjan, the ancestors bestow blessings upon their descendants before departing. For those who do not know the exact date of their ancestors' passing or have not been able to perform Shraddha on the designated date, Sarva Pitru Amavasya provides an opportunity to do so. Additionally, it's worth noting that a solar eclipse is also expected on this day, although it will not be visible in India, and therefore, it is believed that its effects will not be felt in the country.
Sharadiya Navratri begins on 3rd October, (Thursday)
Sharadiya Navratri starts on the Pratipada date of Shukla Paksha in the month of Ashwin. The auspicious time for Kalash Sthapana for Navratri is the entire day. During the nine days of Navratri, the entire family worships the nine forms of Maa Durga, and on the first day, Shailputri Mata will be worshipped. Fasting during Navratri removes all the troubles of life and brings happiness, peace, and prosperity to the household. Additionally, this day marks the birth anniversary of Maharaja Agrasen.
Ganesh Chaturthi Vrat (6 October, Sunday)
On the auspicious day of October 6th, which falls on a Sunday, Hindus observe Ganesh Chaturthi Vrat. This sacred fast is observed on the Chaturthi Tithi of Shukla Paksha of Ashwin month according to the Hindu calendar.
